Humberto Ponce

Managing Partner

Humberto Ponce is the Founder and Managing Partner of Barka Capital. His focus has been leading the Group’s companies in the commercial, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors.

His main focus has been Veto, where he was responsible for developing commercial and operational strategies and spearheading the company’s expansion throughout ten countries in Latin America. As a Board Member, Humberto guided the company in its development and establishment of production and logistics operations in China, as well as its research and development teams in Europe.

Additionally, Humberto oversaw the Group’s agricultural projects, which span more than 1,600 hectares. During his tenure, he also represented Barka Capital in real estate investments focused on developing affordable housing and successfully developing over 1,700 units. 

Humberto started his career at Citibank’s Product Division team in Quito, Ecuador, and subsequently joined Grupo Noboa, one of Ecuador’s largest corporations. He holds a BA in Economics from Universidad Católica.
