Our Story

  • Hidroabanico

    2007

    Barka Capital develops a 37.5 MW hydropower plant, the first in Ecuador structured through project finance debt by multilaterals.

  • 2015

    A second hydropower project is completed, reaching an installed capacity of 87.5 MW.

  • 2016

    Finaholding is established as the holding company that owns the different projects developed and positions the group for future growth.

  • 2018

    The group completes a third hydropower project reaching >137 MW of installed capacity. The group becomes the largest private renewable energy producer in Ecuador.

  • 2020

    Barka Capital replaces Finaholding as an Asset Manager focused in developing and investing in renewable energy projects.
