José María Arízaga

Associate

José María joined Barka Capital in 2025 as an Associate.

Prior to joining Barka, he was an Associate at Alpax, a Latin American boutique investment bank with over $5 billion in closed transactions. At Alpax, he contributed to a wide range of projects, including company valuations, corporate finance analysis, joint venture structuring, and both buy-side and sell-side M&A mandates, advising more than 20 companies across diverse industries.

Earlier in his career, José María worked as a Financial Analyst at Banco Pichincha, the largest financial conglomerate in Ecuador. There, he focused on company valuations, analyzing their operational impact, and supporting senior management in strategic decision-making.

He holds a BA in Business Administration and Management from the University of Navarra in Spain, graduating with honors in corporate finance and company valuation. He has also attended advanced company valuation seminars at IESE Business School.
